Beans Report #5
Hello everyone! Today we have big news! We have been working hard to improve variety and still are working on it, and also we are also arriving at a crucial point!
Before I get into the details, I would like to say thanks from the staff for the support, and the reports and the suggestions. We know we have been slow to respond lately but we are reading all of it and making sure to solve the issues you are bringing to our awareness. More on that in a bit. Lastly, I want to remind everyone that we are still recruiting for staff, as we are diving into more complicated parts of work and require more hands on deck to continue the fast and constant pace of updates and development!

We are looking for:

- GM (requires some experience and time in the server)
We are looking for someone within specific timezones (GMT +7 - GMT +11) to complete our GM staff for around the clock availability!
- Balance Team
We are also looking for more members to our balance team, if you are either good with math and calculations, or want to work on content, wz editing, map editing and more of the like contact us!

Cygnus Update


The upcoming update will be a big one, beyond adding empress cygnus boss and gear set, we are expanding on cygnus knight classes and updating their tutorial. As mentioned before, we are working on improving variety in the server and more classes that you can play is part of it. While taking into consideration the issues of balancing we are doing our best to make sure cygnus knights won’t over perform adventurers.

Empress Cygnus
The Empress is here! Bow down before her might! This boss is going to be hard and require a more mechanical approach. This is going to be a weekly boss and the final end game boss for beta. In the long term it is the entry level boss for the late-end game and with it, a new gear set for level 140 will arrive!

Level 140 gear sets
Currently this is going to be the final set, until past launch when we start adding more bosses, this set is planned to be harder to get than the current gear sets, but there’s a but here! (More on that in a bit!)

4th Job and level 200 for Cygnus Knights
We are finally releasing the 4th job and expanding the level cap of Cygnus Knights to 200. This will make those classes viable for maining and let me tell you, the skills are beautiful! This will probably require more adjustments after it goes live and we hope you will help us by providing feedback!


Cygnus Tutorial rework
Like the adventurer tutorial we did, this is a rework meant to match the regular tutorial while keeping the Cygnus tutorial feeling. With this update, this is the time to start your Cygnus character!



What’s next?
So for a while now we have been talking about focusing on balancing and we know this is the big thing we are going to tackle. BUT, we also realized there are things that we added already that didn’t match our expectations and plans and due to lack of feedback have been left as they were. Recently these things have been brought to our attention and this has caused a change of priority. Because of that, we are going to delay diving into balancing classes full time to address these issues.

Grind for Gear
The original thought behind some of the gear set requirements included longevity and challenge into it. But, it seems we over shot it, and the grind for getting good gear sets has been too much. We plan on revisiting that for the Timeless Set, VL set and Boss accessory set.

Scrolls
Farming for scrolls to scroll your gear is also a part of what makes gearing up tasking and too time consuming. We are going to review this issue and make more ways to gain the scrolls you require to lessen the need to grind for them. Our biggest challenge with this is keeping the value of scrolls without making it too hard (as it is now) to obtain.

PQs
Currently, because of various reasons PQing is not a path to level up. Mainly because the EXP in grinding is way better, but also the lack of people currently to run them. We are going to rework the EXP gains and make PQs a viable path to level up. This also helps in gearing up early on with the PQ gear set and provides PP along the way.

Gacha
Gacha has been something that we worked on a lot until recently, and we had to leave it as it is to focus on other stuff for a while. But we hear you and we will improve on it. Currently we are considering it as a way to make gaining scrolls easier, especially on gold gacha where currently the ring scrolls are unused. We think that replacing those scrolls with more useful scrolls that are mainly 30% scrolls is a good solution. But we also want to expand the overall pools of both silver and gold gacha. This will require some deeper thinking until we can say Gacha is done, and some trial and error will be part of the way to that goal.

Auto Events
These have been less and less attractive to players and we understand that. The lack of beneficial rewards and the spammy nature of so many events has taken its toll on the will of players to participate in them. We are going to revisit the whole structure of Auto Events and improve the reward system of it. Our current approach is to lessen the amount of events per day and having a rotation between the different events. To lessen instances of event after event while having better incentive to participate in them.

Iron Man
This is probably a bit further down the road, but we realize that the Challenge spirit of this mode has not been achieved in the current state of Iron Man. We plan on reworking this mode into a more challenging version, letting people truly challenge themselves!

Boss exp, and map spawn
Lastly, we are going to do some work on revisiting some of the bosses EXP gains, and do some map spawn work on different maps to improve them and create more training areas.



Beyond these things, our next focus is to fully focus on balancing classes, this will include some changes to skills that are underused and might include some animation changes.
OUR MAIN GOAL IS TO KEEP THE OLD SCHOOL FEELING OF EACH CLASS but we also realize some things need improvement. We will require your feedback in order to achieve this goal when the time comes. Another thing that is important to mention here is that this work will be done class by class, so it will cause some disruption along the way but in the end we will have better classes with better balance.

Before we end this report, I would like to say a few things to you, our dear community.
First of all, the feedback, suggestions, bug reports you all provide is our bread and butter while working on KuroMS. Without it, we are blind. While extensive tests are being done before releasing content, things are always overlooked or missed before release to live beta. We are dependent on your feedback to improve, and this is why there is a place for it in the discord server. This feedback needs to be put in Discord, that is where we go to when we plan out ahead, this is where we reference to make sure we didn’t forget something or missed anything. It is crucially important to have your feedback posted in the discord in addition to you talking to us in game or in DMs. We realize that we have been slower to respond lately, and this has caused some of you to feel like we are ignoring or not listening to you. Yes some things won’t change OR won't be accepted. But we are taking everything into consideration even when we don’t respond! Sometimes we are dwelling on a subject and trying to figure out solutions before we respond and often, this takes a while. Some issues are harder to solve, or sometimes we attempt a change and we are unable to, so we delay it so we can keep pushing updates. I would like to suggest that IF you feel like something has been ignored, you are welcome to DM me personally, and remind me to address it. And we will try and do our best to share that we have read it, and are considering \ trying to find a solution \ were unsuccessful. We will do our best to communicate better in these cases so at the least, you would know your feedback is not ignored. We appreciate all the support you provide in working on this server and we want you to know it and feel appreciated for your time and feedback.
