Beans Report #3
Hello everyone! It's that time again, another Beans report to share and let you know what we are working on and what to expect. Recently we have been diving more into pushing content and improving gear progression. and as we finalize the upcoming update, we start looking forward towards focusing back on balancing.
so for the upcoming update what should be expected?
Level 100 sets3 sets included in this, each one suitable for any class but is better for certain classes.
Tempest set (int+luk)
Revolution set (str+dex)
Pinnacle set (dex+luk)
all sets will have all stats, but certain stats will be higher naturally, but in cases where cs is used, and another stats is higher, they will still be useful just for another class.
all these sets share the same set effect, although some weapons will have different values based on the set. so there is a best set for every class.
Item Edits
some items would be nerfed, to fit the new progression planned, considering the additions of the PQ set and level 100 set.
Krexel
Krexel is coming, he is a bit late but better late than never right? no change to its strength will be made, but we may change drop list similar to Toad
Polishing recent additions
as some may have noticed, some things from the recent update weren’t implemented fully or as intended. For example, Toad is not working yet but should be when the upcoming update is released together with Krexel, VL still needs minor tweaks, and of course more bug fixing that has been done since the update was released.
skill changes (mainly buffs to underpowered classes, nothing major)
nothing too much, mainly buffing under performing classes, as a first step before we begin focusing fully on balance work.
PQ changes and PQ set
no major changes, but we are going to add new equips to pqs (about one for each) and those equips will server as parts of a PQ set, for that goal, we are going to lower the requirement level for MVPQ. The set is aimed to be useful up to the level 100 sets, while obtaining it will be spread throughout pqs level 10-100.
**Important Note**
Mages are still awaiting formula change, this is something we are still working on and because of that we arent focused upon balancing the gear for them yet, since it will most likely require editing once formula is done. a massive mage update will come with the formula.
What’s next?
Chaos Bosses
We intend to add in the very near future Chaos Zakum, Chaos Horntail, and Chaos Pink Bean. Those will probably be inserted between Normal Pink Bean, to Von Leon. this might require some changes to Von Leon. but we will wait for a bit of testing before doing changes to VL first.
Tutorial Rework
This has been planned for a while, but should be implemented very soon. Some minor adjustments still need to be made before we release it. but is planned for the next couple updates.
Ariant PQ rework
Since PQs are mostly for lower levels, we want to provide PQs that can be played in higher levels, those won't include great rewards but will be aimed to provide another path to leveling up. Ariant PQ is planned to be a higher level PQ instead of its original form.
Skill Changes
Another step towards balance, we are now focusing on finishing up the planned content for Beta, while we may include future content intended to be released post launch in the Beta to test it and prepare it. We do have a certain goal of content for Beta. As mentioned before, we plan to have bosses up to Cygnus by the time we launch, we are not too far from that goal. Once we finish up all the gear and bosses planned, the next step will be adjustments and focusing on Skill Changes until we reach a point we are satisfied with. We do keep in mind that balance is something we will continue to work on all the time, but we want to get to a point where we feel it's prepared for launch.
Boss accessory set
Another accessory set coming, this will be the upgrade for the Golden Flower set, this set will be obtained from the chaos bosses mainly, but we might have some items available from different bosses.
Long Term
Cygnuswhile this one is probably more short term than long term, we postpone this boss until we finish adding the chaos bosses before it. so it will probably take a while more than previously planned. this boss will come with level 140 set that will be an upgrade from VL’s level 130 set
Custom PQ
We are considering making a custom PQ for end game players, not much detail this idea is pretty new. but we would like to hear feedback from you on this to know if that is something people want.
PQ adjustments
down the road we might find it needed to adjust some PQs exp gains, the goal is to have PQs be another path to leveling up early on.
Casino
Mentioned in the previous report, this is something we are still looking for feedback about, if this is something wanted or not.
Level Cap Raise
We might test this during Beta, but this is not planned for release. On launch we will have up to level 200, but we do want to test the exp curve during beta. This is something that will come at a later stage when we finish the main things.
Seasonal Events
mentioned before, this is also something for much much later, once we are finished with most things. Besides holiday events, we also plan to make some themed events.
Post 200 Content
mentioned in the previous report, this is something we also want to test but not release on launch. There's a lot of work to be done on these areas, making custom quests and adjusting mobs. This may or may not be tested during beta, but with the amount of work needed, it's also a possibility we will postpone testing this for post launch.
Widget Games
For now, no games are planned to be added, mainly needing to polish and work on the existing games. and implement rewarding aspects to these games like flappy stirge point conversion for example.
Overall, we are beginning to see the shape of the intended goal. There's much work still to be done but with the current updates things start to take shape. The next few updates are going to massively shape the server progression and player experience but once those are done, the aim is to focus on class power balance and progression polishing. After that, we can look ahead to working on some fun factor content (events, casino) and preparing future content that is planned for post launch.
