Beans Report #6
Hello Hello dear community! We are back again with another Beans Report to share our progress. The last update was a very long one, and unfortunately we had to release it in an incomplete state. This was due to not wanting to keep you guys waiting for bug fixes and other things until we finish it up. Also, this affects the near future work we are planning but we do aim to multitask during that time. So, before we proceed, we want to wish everyone happy holidays! And hope you are making the best of the end of 2025! And hope you all will have an amazing 2026!

So let's get down to beansness!

First of all, I'd like to address the last update, explain a bit and also share how we plan on moving forward with it.

Cygnus Update

The KoC 4th job update is not as we intended it to be, our original plan was to move around some skills, remove some and add others (for example, adding Taunt for NW or removing Hurricane from WA). We aim to have cygnus differ from their Explorer counterparts but also not inferior or superior. But… after planning it all out and working on the technical aspects of it, we encountered some issues that required a totally new plan. During this time, daily updates were halted because the gap between the update and the live server grew and we ultimately decided to release the skills as they were instead of delaying even more, so we could resume the daily updates and bug fixing and such. This means the current KoC skills are a bit of a mess, lots of bugs and they are not going to remain as they are because currently they are unbalanced. We also had some changes we did revert in the middle of working on it which will require redoing, for example, the animation of DW moon dancer skill. The character animation is kinda wonky and the overall animation requires a bit of adjusting. So while we did release the 4th job for KoC it is going to be changed and we are still working on it. The extent of the changes can be major, but we are still in the re-planning stage so this is all I can say for now.

Also, I will say that we don’t plan for the main explorer skills (such as Hurricane, Brandish, etc) to be available for cygnus or, if they would be (which we try to avoid), it will be a weakened version of those skills.

Beyond that, we are still working on the skill books and will slowly add them to the drop lists.

What’s being worked on?

A note here, we are going to mainly focus on KoC skills until we have them where we want them to be. But during this time we will also review and rework other stuff as mentioned in the previous beans report. We believe it will take some time and might be like this for more than one or two updates, but we will do our best to finalize it as soon as we are able to so we can move on to work on the other classes beyond KoC and improve class balance.


KoC Skills
This is going to be a process, and will probably be worked on for a while. Basically balancing and reworking the skill kits of the classes.

Boss and PQ exp
While we are working on KoC our first focus beyond that would be to rework exp gained from both Bosses and PQs. This is to help out with a better progression in levels and also to incentives PQ and Bossing. This is meant to make PQs a viable path to leveling early on instead of just questing and grinding to match our goal of providing a few routes for players to play so they can play how they prefer instead of being pushed into one path. This will also help players gear early on with the PQ set.

Eliminating lag
As we progress, we work constantly on improving stability and eliminating lag as a whole. Currently with the low population it is difficult to stress test, we will appreciate you guys reporting any lag you experience so we can improve on that part.

What’s next?

We have made a list of things to rework and beyond KoC skills this will be our main focus for the near future. Our goal is to finish up this list before moving on to working on the rest of the classes, as our bossing content planned for beta has reached its goal with the last update.

List of planned reviews\reworks
Iron man make it more of a challenge.
Auto events make them be less often and improve rewards.
Early boss gear obtaining methods meaning long term not just a beta solution.
Scroll gaining methods.
Gachapon expand the prize pool and adjust existing ones.
Adjusting mob spawns and also making ninja castle maps one mob type per map for better training spots and more variety.

This list might get additions as we work on it or as things come up. But the idea is to basically improve things we added and in our quest to push content didn’t go back to adjust and improve based on feedback. We do not forget about your feedback and it is important to us to prioritize things you find important and to improve the overall experience of the server. We just focused on pushing content before adjusting everything, but now that most of our planned content for beta (not including some fun factor stuff) is already out we can focus on adjusting, improving, and polishing everything.

Long Term plans for beta

After we finish up adjusting the things that already exist, and finalize the changes for KoC this is what else is currently planned for beta. As always, this is also prone to changes but overall this is basically my goal for being “launch ready” (lunch??).

Class work and balancing
This is going to be our next priority once we finish up the reworks and KoC, this basically means we will probably do some custom skills, a bit of more refined animations and overall make better kits for the classes. We do intend on keeping the feel of the classes old school, but we also realize that with our future plans for more content post launch, some kits are lacking, some skills in their current state are kind of useless and also some classes are hard to balance as they are. So to solve this we aim to provide each class with an identity, something to make them special, either a role, something only they can bring into a party or even just a playstyle that is unique to them. Obviously, this has limits and, as ambitious as we want to be, some things may not be as unique as we would like. But overall, that is the current plan.

Seasonal Events
Like the Halloween event trial, we plan on having year round events for holidays and also in between holidays having themed ones. This is something that we plan on fully working on pretty late into beta, or at least after we finish the important bits. But our goal is to have events running most of the year.

Custom PQ
As part of our plan to provide a PQ path of leveling, we do intend on attempting to make a completely custom PQ for KuroMS. It is intended for high levels, maybe even end game kind of thing. Mainly for PQing to stay relevant and provide some nice rewards. We haven’t started planning it out and the idea may change until we do. But this is the current idea for it.

Casino
Per your feedback on Gacha changes, we realized that, well… you like to throw away your hard earned mesos\nx? So we want to make a casino kind of map, where you would be able to play games against players or npcs, again, this is not something that has a laid out plan yet but examples being stuff like: games of chance where you can bid mesos, games of skill against other players, and umm feel free to suggest once this becomes more relevant.

Beyond that, we have a few more things we are considering and some things that will require review and adjusting later on.
